The creative economy in Africa is a rapidly growing sector that encompasses a wide range of industries including music, film, literature, art, fashion, and digital media. According to Africa: No Filter, the creative and cultural industries (CCI) across Africa generate about US$4.2 billion in revenue and have a growth rate that outpaces other sectors on the continent. In recent years, there has been a growing recognition of the potential of the creative economy to accelerate economic growth and development in Africa. Creativity and Technology has always existed from the invention of the paintbrush to the recording of music. However, as Technology has evolved it has invaded all elements of Creativity. This event is aimed at highlighting the value chain opportunities available to be explored for investments.
