Job Role & Person- Specification
A Local events coordinator who will serve as on-ground support to the Events team throughout the preparation of the 2023 Annual gathering.
Responsibilities:
- Research on local sponsors, submit the names, email and office addresses of these sponsors to the Partnership Manager while scheduling meetings for partnership discussions.
- Support the AfriLabs team and consortium of hubs in Rwanda through the event.
- Assisting with the planning, coordination and implementation of the gathering.
- Scout, research on vendors with good reputations and are fully registered within Rwanda based on the list provided by the Ecosystem Events Manager.
- Support the events and operations department in engaging the local vendors in Rwanda by developing a tracking system which lists their list of vendor names, services, payment terms, timeline and quality of service upon completion.
- Manage vendors before, during and after the gathering to ensure that they deliver on the agreed services.
- Provide information when reached out to in a timely manner.
- Attend the AfriLabs team meeting (bi-weekly), department meetings and any other meetings as requested by your supervisor.
- Follow-ups with sponsors who have shown interest in sponsoring and the consortium of hubs on tasks assigned to them.
- Support the AfriLabs team, attendees, hub members and stakeholders during the Gathering.
- Any other tasks as assigned by your supervisor.
Required Skills, Qualifications & Abilities:
- Minimum qualification is a Bachelor’s degree in Management, Business Administration or any other related field.
- Have a certification in Project Management.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential matters and respond as required.
- Knowledge of the African innovation, technology and entrepreneurship space.
- Strong facilitation skills and a team player.
- Strong knowledge of Event coordination.
- Ability to carry out Research.
