Executive Assistant, AfriLabs

AfriLabs is seeking to recruit an Executive Assistant to serve as the administrative and functional point person for the Board Chair, to ensure smooth functioning of activities and processes. The Executive Assistant is to serve as a liaison to the Board of Directors, the Secretariat, and Senior Management teams; to organize and coordinate activities. 

Responsibilities: 

  • To provide confidential administrative support in the delivery of assignments and initiatives on behalf of the Board Chair’s office as and when required.
  • Coordinating meetings and managing schedules of the Board chair and the Senior Management teams of the Secretariat.
  • Support the activities and engagement of the North African Ecosystem.
  • Answering phones and routing calls to the appropriate person or taking messages.
  • To ensure all correspondence and relevant materials are produced in a timely and accurate manner. 
  • Making travel and accommodation arrangements, providing general administrative support and information when required.
  • Opening, sorting incoming memos, documents, and other correspondence. 
  • To conduct research and analysis as directed by the Board Chair. 
  • Follow up on tasks and activities for the Organization.
  • Managing information flow in a timely and accurate manner.
  • Any other duties as assigned.

Reports to: Board Chair

Skills, Qualifications & Abilities: 

  • Degree in Business, Law, or any relevant field.
  • A minimum of two (2) years experience as an Executive Assistant, Personal Assistant or similar role.
  • Excellent MS Office knowledge.
  • Outstanding organizational, record-keeping, and time management skills.
  • Must be Bilingual (French & English), knowledge of Arabic is an added advantage.
  • In-depth understanding of MS Office Suite and Google Apps.
  • Familiarity with office gadgets and applications (e.g. e-calendars and copy machines).
  • Excellent verbal and written communications skills.
  • Discretion and confidentiality.
  • Ability to retrieve information from relevant sources through research.
  • Requires full-time availability with flexible hours.
  • Excellent multitasking and problem-solving skills.
  • PA diploma or certification is a plus. 
  • Pan African Role; preferably from North Africa 

Location: North African (Coordinate with the AfriLabs Secretariat in Nigeria).

Employment Terms: Full-time role, on a contractual basis. 

Working time/days: 9 AM – 5 PM; Monday to Friday. 

Terms and Conditions:​ This is a locally recruited professional position by the AfriLabs Secretariat Nigerian entity and all benefits are denominated and paid in USD as the case may be. AfriLabs’ remuneration package includes a salary paid monthly, leave provisions, pension, and health benefits.
